What is JITSI?

JITSI is an Open-Source application based on the webRTC protocol that enables 100% web-based videoconferencing (no application to install) compatible with all computer browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge …) and mobile devices (Android, IOS).

JITSI video conferencing virtual rooms offer the following services:

Video resolution of participants up to 1080P
Up to 500 simultaneous participants per conference
Integrated chat in conferences
Windows, video and document sharing
Moderation
Transcription
Recording and streaming of conferences
End-to-end encryption of transmissions

JAAS at 8x8

Online-Event works with JAAS (Jitsi As A Service) technical infrastructure of the company 8×8, which actively participates in the development of the JITSI software.

The JAAS server infrastructure consists of a fleet of servers hosted in 8 data centers around the world:

AP-Northeast-1 (Tokyo, Japan)
AP-South-1 (Mumbai, India)
AP-Southeast-2 (Sydney, Australia)
EU-Central-1 (Frankfurt, Germany)

The JAAS solution also provides detailed statistics on the conferences organized (number of participants, video quality, participation time, …).

Integration of JITSI on the Online-Event platform.

The integration of JITSI video conferencing rooms is completely transparent:

Platform users are automatically authenticated on the JITSI system
The conference windows are fully integrated into the platform design (colors, layout …)
The creation and management of videoconference rooms are integrated into the platform’s back-office event management

Depending on your needs for using the JITSI service (workshops, demo rooms, discussion rooms), the conferences can be accessible by registering in the platform’s agenda, in free access, or by predefined groups.

The access to the conferences will be entirely automated on the live page, according to the users and the predefined schedules in the back-office.
